With the unparalleled success of Sun City dwindling to a close out, John Meeker, the president of Del Webb Corporation sought out additional land 2 miles to the west of Sun City with a new vision: a larger community with facilities unmatched anywhere with an “Emerald Valley” as the focal point of the new community.
