Litchfield Park Az
is a 3.3 square mile oasis in the desert. Originally built by Paul Litchfield who acquired land on behalf of the Goodyear Tire company to grow cotton to reinforce their tires for automobiles and truck tires being used in the war efforts, the city was incorporated in 1987.
Today’s Wigwam Resort and Spa was originally built to serve executives from the Goodyear Tire companies that were visiting and overseeing operations. This historic resort is one of Arizona’s best with 3 18 hole championship golf courses and the Red Door Spa. It is located in the village center with charming shops, restaurants, and Litchfield Elementary School.
The original master plan for the Litchfield Park Az area incorporated lots of palm and citrus trees, wide walkways and rolling green spaces.
