Sun City Az….THE original active adult community that drew thousands of folks to see what the hoopla was about on grand opening weekend in January of 1960. What a novel idea back in the day…..you retire and rather than hibernate in your family home of decades, relocate and have some fun in the sun making your golden years active and full of social activity. Needless to say, we are where we are today because of that bold move by Del E Webb.
Sun City took a turn for the worse as newcomers Sun City West, Sun City Grand, and Sun City Festival have progressed the idea with modern updates in both homes and recreation. But recently, Sun City is getting quite a spark of interest. A long vacant parcel in the development near Sunland Dr. and Del Webb Blvd. will begin construction on 141 brand new homes by builder K. Hovnanian.
There is no doubt this project Four Seasons at the Manor will be in high demand, and at 141 homes it’s likely to sell out quickly. Contact us to be placed on the interest list for grand opening. Make your first visit with us and get a discount on selling your home and up to $1500 in option credits to customize your new home!
Four Seasons at the Manor
Model construction began August 10th 2015 with 4 of 8 floor plans being built. Ranging from 1527 to 2300 sq ft in size these plans will fit modern day expectations for an open floor plan and also have luxury touches through out. The price point hasn’t been disclosed by K Hovnanian yet, but ball park is starting in the mid 200’s. This will be Hovnanian’s first foray into active adult homes. Four Seasons at the Manor will be different from the rest of Sun City as the community will have block walls surrounding the homes for privacy.
Lately, Sun City has been exploding with boomers wanting to have a home in the community for the location. You can drive down nearly any street and see a big dumpster in several yards. Some of the remodels take the home down to studs to rework and open up the floor plan.
I have lived in Happy Trails for 10 years, totally remodeled our 15 sq. ft double wide, now looking to relocate to 55 plus community, no longer a snow bird. Quite familiar with most of these 55 plus communities. I still do lots of remodeling/upgrades and would be open to purchasing another, but I look at a neighborhood, more than a home. Is the original Sun City, showing upgrades and are the prices still GREAT? Also love Sun Village, and east to the Peoria area, but would also look at other communities, not that familiar with going south toward I-10 , I know there are some nice lake areas, as our niece live just north of 1-10 around 10800 W. Montery, are there any 55+ communities in that area?would also be interested in bank owned, perhaps needing cosmetic work? Thank you . Monika
